The temperatures youre getting are spot on. with pcs the figures are rarely round numbers. i wouldnt worry about 4mhz difference at all. Turbo mode is the one right above dram frequency so dont know how u couldnt see that :S although turbo mode changes the multiplier from 20 to 21 when the system is only using one core so if you manually selected 21 then maybe the turbomode option disappears.ฤก604mhz is basically 1600mhz. so thats why everything was umm back to default lol. Well you pressed F2 which restores everything to default. the 920 is quite a warm chip so dont panic if youre getting 70c - 75c under load. and have "realtemp" running at the same time too. Run something like prime95 to test if your settings are stable.

if you have the D0 stepping 920 you should be able to set a cpu voltage of 1.1625v if its the C0 then you might need 1.25v and the higher the voltage the more heat there is. its set to auto but the asus tends to be over cautious and select quite high voltages. as the ram is at standard settings you shouldnt need to muck around with anything else in the bios apart from the cpu voltage. I think for your system that would probably be the best settings. You can be crafty though and you should be able to select a cpu multiplier of 21. if you change it to 160 then you can still select a ram speed of 1600 (the ram multiplier will be 10) youll have a cpu speed of 3.2ghz though ( 160 x standard cpu multiplier of 20). to overclock an i7 you simply change the bclck. If you do overclock your system then this will also affect your ram. you should be able to select 1600mhz (the ram multiplier will be 12) simply go into the bios and the second tab is "ai tweaker" go down to ram frequency and select the frequency closest to your ram speed. I dont know if ive already mentioned (ive put it on several threads now lol) but intel only officially support 1066mhz for ram. 3.4-3.6ghz seems a nice comprise of speed, reliability and manageable temperature im only running mine at 3.6ghz the 920 seems to hit a bit of a wall at that speed and getting it over that and upto 4ghz takes a lot more voltage and tweaking and the heat increases arent really worth the small gain in speed.
